About William

As a seasoned multicultural real estate professional, I know that buying or selling a home is a profoundly personal and well-considered decision. The real estate process can be confusing, but with nearly 20 years of experience in a competitive industry and clients from diverse backgrounds and income levels, I have accumulated the expertise to guide you through it successfully. In addition, I value versatility, innovation, and effective communication and I always strive to deliver on all my client's needs.

In addition to real estate, I am committed to advocating for issues that affect communities of color, fostering leadership through my personal activities and embracing modern American culture. I am passionate about diversity, equality and inclusion in both the workplace and the community. When I'm not working, I enjoy an active lifestyle with hobbies like hiking, nature, cross-country trips, international travel and biking. My health is my wealth, after all.

My ultimate goal is to create a "win-win" scenario for both my clients and the company by making the home-selling process affordable, convenient, and less complex. In addition, I am dedicated to establishing an empathetic client relationship and adhering to the best practices in order to meet and exceed industry standards.


William Yang was born and raised in Chicago by first-generation Hmong immigrant parents. After graduating high school, he moved to Minnesota for college earning a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a focus on Marketing from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Growing up in a real estate family, William was inspired by his parents' success as real estate investors and rental property owners in both Chicago and the Twin Cities. After watching them help many tenants achieve the dream of home ownership, he decided to pursue a career in the field. He started as a Mortgage Loan Officer and later became a licensed Realtor in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. Over the years, he aimed to own his own agency and eventually obtained his broker license. After 12 years of working with other brokerages, he founded William Yang Real Estate, a discount brokerage serving the greater Minnesota metropolitan area.
